Princes of the Yen: An Exposé of Central Banking

“Princes of the Yen: Japan’s Central Bankers and the Transformation of the Economy”『円の支配者』

is the title of a [2002] book written by Professor Richard Werner, who had previously been a visiting researcher at the Bank of Japan during the 1990s crash. A financial débâcle that saw Japan’s stock market drop by 80% and house prices by up to 84%.

This 2014 video, entitled “Princes of the Yen: Central Banks and the Transformation of the Economy” — written/produced/directed by Michael Oswald — is predicated on that Werner book.

It reveals how Japanese society was transformed to suit the agenda and desire of powerful interest groups, and how Japan’s citizens were kept entirely in the dark about this.

“A fantastic book about money, central banks, and monetary & fiscal policies. Richard Werner is one of most brilliant minds in the world of economics: an extremely honest and professionally endowed researcher who is not afraid to put a scalpel into the open wound of economic theory. His book New Paradigm In Macroeconomics is an other absolute masterpiece.”
